The Gospel Cafe is a great place for gospel.. and poetry right here in San Diego!
We're making plans to do a slam fundraiser from their stage, later this summmer..

Tommy Hightower is the proprietor of the cafe, along with his wife April.
Tommy even took the mic to read us "Ego-Tripping" by Nikki Giovanni, and
"The Weary Blues" by Langston Hughes, the quintessential Harlem poet..
